AVOID BEING MISTAKEN 

AVOID BEING MISTAKEN: READ TO KNOW THE SCRIPTURES TO AVOID BEING MISTAKEN AND BE FOUND IN AN ERRONEOUS CAPTIVITY! 

“Till I come, GIVE ATTENDANCE TO READING, to exhortation, to doctrine” 1 Timothy 4:13. 

“. . . 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, WRITE the VISION, and make it PLAIN upon TABLES, that he may RUN that READETH it . . .” Habakkuk 2:1-4. 

“Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do ERR (MISTAKEN), not KNOWING the scriptures, nor the POWER of God” Matthew 22:29/Emphasis mine. 

You are mistaken, walking in error and powerless because you simply RUN before you READ; hence READ first if you must RUN to achieve, succeed, triumph, and such like more, in that purposeful, visioned concept for your meaningful result of God in Christ Jesus’ stead. 

For READING keeps you INFORMED. 
And INFORMED people make INFORMED DECISIONS, and not mere guesses or guessing decisions. 
And INFORMED DECISIONS make INFORMED LIVING in LIFE and GODLINESS in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

READ BEFORE YOU RUN — DON’T PUT THE CART BEFORE THE HORSE. 
YOU WILL EXERT UNNECESSARY EFFORTS TO NOWHERE — FOR WISDOM IS ONLY PROFITABLE TO DIRECT THROUGH KNOWLEDGE 

“If the IRON be BLUNT, and he DO NOT WHET the edge, then must he PUT TO MORE STRENGTH: but WISDOM is PROFITABLE to direct” Ecclesiastes 10:10. 

“If the AXE is DULL and he DOES NOT SHARPEN its edge, then he must EXERT more strength; but WISDOM [to sharpen the axe] helps him SUCCEED [with less effort]” Ecclesiastes 10:10/AMP. 

Don’t blame others for your poor prescription or order in the principle of doing life in Christ Jesus’ stead if you don’t READ before you RUN. 

For WISDOM is the application of KNOWLEDGE, and KNOWLEDGE is the result of the pure SCRIPTURAL TRUTH that one has been informed and contains. 

YOU ARE EITHER RESPONDING OR REACTING — 
KNOWLEDGE will make one RESPOND to life matters by the WORD, 
while IGNORANCE makes one REACT to life matters because there is NO WORD. 
And NO WORD means NO FAITH. 
For FAITH comes by the WORD — [Romans 10:17]. 
And by FAITH we do life with God to overcome in humanity. [1 John 5:4-5; Habakkuk 2:4; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38; Romans 1:17] 
And not doing life by FAITH is SIN — [Romans 14:23]. 
And without doing life by FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE God — [Hebrews 11:1-3, 6]. 

Thus, it indicates why it is important and imperative to ensure and be assured of the knowledge and understanding of the WORD of God in every context and application, to necessitate and ascertain the WISDOM for any to succeed with God in Christ Jesus’ stead. 

BELOVED, AVOID BEING MISTAKEN — READ TO KNOW THE SCRIPTURES in order to avoid being mistaken and being found in erroneous captivity — and sometimes irreversible bondages.  

Therefore, SELAH – PAUSE AND THINK! 

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“. . . 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, WRITE the VISION, and make it PLAIN upon TABLES, that he may RUN that READETH it . . .” Habakkuk 2:1-4. 

“MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: because thou hast REJECTED KNOWLEDGE, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” Hosea 4:6. 

“. . . . 13 Therefore MY PEOPLE ARE GONE INTO CAPTIVITY, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. 14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled” Isaiah 5:11-15. 

“I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, 5 hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; 6 that the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the ACKNOWLEDGING OF EVERY GOOD THING WHICH IS IN YOU IN CHRIST JESUS” Philemon 1:6. 

“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall FEED you with KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING” Jeremiah 3:15.

The message teaches us that ignorance leads to error, powerlessness, and captivity, while knowledge of Scripture leads to wisdom, faith, and success in God.

• Wisdom* is the application of knowledge, and knowledge comes from pure SCRIPTURAL TRUTH. 
  Like a blunt axe — without sharpening, you must exert more strength and still achieve less. Ecclesiastes 10:10[knowledge] 

3. THE TWO WAYS TO RESPOND TO LIFE: RESPOND vs REACT

• KNOWLEDGE makes you RESPOND to life by the WORD 

• IGNORANCE makes you REACT to life because there is NO WORD 
  And NO WORD = NO FAITH. 

• Faith comes by the Word — Romans 10:17. By faith we overcome — *1 John 5:4-5. 
  Not living by faith is SIN — Romans 14:23, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God without faith — Hebrews 11:6. 
  So running without reading is running without faith.  

4. THE DANGER OF NOT READING: ERROR AND CAPTIVITY

When you don’t know the Scriptures, you: 

Walk in error and powerlessness 

Make poor prescriptions/orders for your life and blame others 

Become vulnerable to erroneous captivity and sometimes irreversible bondages 
Scriptures cited: 

• Hosea 4:6 — My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge 

• Isaiah 5:13-15 — My people are gone into captivity because they have no knowledge  

5. THE SOLUTION AND CHARGE

It is important and imperative to have knowledge and understanding of the WORD of God in every context. This is how we ascertain WISDOM to succeed with God in Christ Jesus’ stead. 
God gives pastors to FEED us with KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING — Jeremiah 3:15. 
Our faith becomes effectual by ACKNOWLEDGING every good thing in us in Christ Jesus — Philemon 1:6. 

FINAL WORD: SELAH — PAUSE AND THINK! 
BELOVED, AVOID BEING MISTAKEN. READ TO KNOW THE SCRIPTURES.

Don’t run in life, ministry, or warfare without first reading and knowing the Word, because wisdom to succeed, faith to overcome, and protection from error and captivity all come from being informed by Scripture.
