BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND IN CHRIST JESUS’ STEAD! 

“. . . [2] And do not be CONFORMED to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be TRANSFORMED and PROGRESSIVELY CHANGED [as you mature spiritually] by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may PROVE [for yourselves] what the WILL of God is, that which is GOOD and ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT [in His plan and purpose for you]” Romans 12:1-2/Amplified. 

This season is marked by BLESSEDNESS. Our charge and focus remains: “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen!  

This speaks of the Blessedness of God by faith, it means you ARE being EMPOWERED to succeed, achieve, become and thrive in all that God has done in you in Christ Jesus. It is your season to authenticate [enact] and be ensured of God’s enabling – that by “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” in the grace, in Christ Jesus’ stead, blessedness will become your daily reality. Amen. 

This October is your season to be EFFECTUAL [productive and result oriented], in your redemption rights and privileges in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. For it is as you are “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” in the grace in Christ Jesus, that your essence in the Kingdom plan, purpose and pursuit of God will become tangible, reachable, liveable, lovable and indeed, your reality. 

By the knowledge and understanding of this October charge, it is my earnest PRAYER that you resolve to take a step of faith in the grace to ENACT – “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” – in order to live meaningfully and fulfil the commission mandate that is upon you and upon us all: to be Earthly useful and Heavenly minded, in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

And for your refreshing: OCTOBER is the TENTH month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars. It is one of the seven months with 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, it is commonly associated with AUTUMN, while in parts of the Southern Hemisphere it aligns with SPRING –a reminder that God brings a new season, new fruitfulness and new harvest in the life of His people.  

The Month of October was originally the eighth month of the Roman calendar. And the name October comes from the Latin word “OCTO” meaning eight. Later, it became the 10th month when January and February were added to the Calendar. And spiritually, the number “eight” is said to be a symbol of NEW BEGINNING, signifying BLESSEDNESS which encompasses – WEALTH, PROSPERITY, PEACE, FERTILITY and more of such like.  Furthermore, the month of October is normally the time of the year when farmers harvest their crops – an indication of productivity and abundance. To me this is significant, such that as we are “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND”, we can then walk into the assured BLESSEDNESS of God in Christ Jesus’ stead in our redemption. 

Therefore, as we take daily steps of Faith through this month in an onward and upward trajectory, I want you to know that as you are “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” in the grace, in Christ Jesus’ stead, you will not just survive – you will THRIVE in the grace.  

And through this Month, as we follow along in the teaching to explore more on this by God’s enabling grace, you will come to know what and why this is so relevant for you in the now, and all about God’s FULNESS. And in the cause of the expository teaching and preaching on – “BEING TRANSFORMED [TRANSFIGURED] BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND” – may you find the enabling of God’s grace in our redemption, in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye TRANSFORMED by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may prove what is that GOOD, and ACCEPTABLE, and PERFECT, WILL of God” Romans 12:1-2. 

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are CHANGED into the same image from GLORY TO GLORY, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” 2 Corinthians 3:18. 

“That ye PUT OFF concerning the former CONVERSATION [CONDUCT, BEHAVIOUR] the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; [23] and BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND; [24] and that ye PUT ON the NEW MAN, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” Ephesians 4:22-24. 

“And have PUT ON the NEW MAN, which is RENEWED IN KNOWLEDGE after the image of him that CREATED him: [11] where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all” Colossians 3:10-11. 

“Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our OUTER SELF is [progressively] wasting away, yet our INNER SELF is being [progressively] RENEWED DAY BY DAY. [17] For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]! “But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, [5] not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of REGENERATION, and RENEWING of the Holy Ghost” Titus 3:4-5. 

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW. [18] Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, [19] that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. [20] Now then, we are AMBASSADORS for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. Spiritually, that same principle applies as we renew our minds in Christ, we authenticate God’s enabling power in us. This renewal makes God’s plan, purpose and pursuit for our lives become tangible, reachable, liveable and our reality. The goal is not just success, but FULFILMENT — being earthly useful and heavenly minded. 

Multiple scriptures are used to show that transformation is: 

1. Not conforming to the world 
2. Putting off the old man and putting on the new 
3. An inner renewal that happens day by day 
4. The evidence of being a new creation in Christ 
5. The pathway to proving God’s good, acceptable and perfect will

   To live as AMBASSADORS for Christ with the ministry of reconciliation 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 

CALL TO ACTION 

1. ENACT THE CHARGE DAILY: Take deliberate steps of faith this October to live “BEING TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND”. Don’t just hear it — practice it. 
2. REJECT CONFORMITY: Refuse the world’s superficial values and customs. Set your mind on godly values and eternal things Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 4:18 
3. EMBRACE THE SEASON: Walk into the BLESSEDNESS of God for this month. Expect NEW BEGINNINGS, HARVEST, WEALTH, PROSPERITY, PEACE and FERTILITY in every area as you align with God. 
4. LIVE WITH PURPOSE: Be diligent to fulfil the commission mandate. Be earthly useful and heavenly minded. Let your transformed life prove God’s will. 
5. FOLLOW THE TEACHING: Stay with the expository teaching this month to gain deeper understanding of God’s FULLNESS in this theme by His enabling grace
