PRESENTING YOUR BODIES (FLESH – SENSES) TO GOD: THE EASIEST WAY TO KNOW GOD’S WILL AND TO TRIUMPH IN CHRIST JESUS’ STEAD! 

“This I say then, WALK in the Spirit, and ye shall not FULFIL the LUST of the FLESH . . . 24 And they that are Christ’s have CRUCIFIED the FLESH (SENSUAL) with the AFFECTIONS and LUSTS. 25 If we LIVE in the Spirit, let us also WALK in the Spirit” Galatians 5:16, 24-25 (Emphasis Mine). 

I do know that every Believer in Christ wants to live triumphantly and experience the EASIEST way to their daily TRIUMPH and to be A MORE THAN CONQUEROR, an OVERCOMER and VICTORIOUS — 2 Corinthians 2:14; Romans 8:37; 1 John 5:4-5; 1 Corinthians 15:57 

Also, everyone in Christ Jesus’ stead wants to KNOW THE HOW and OPERATIVE PRINCIPLE of God’s WILL for them, as they do life and live in grace, without obstructions. 

Being a GOSPEL Minister has given me the rare privilege to know, relatively, the questions and the feelings of people who struggle day to day, in order to ensure that they are at peace within themselves, especially on matters affecting their personal relationship with God, and in the HOW they do life with others and carry out their daily earthly affairs. 

Unknown to some, the solution and answer is simple — it is for you to PRESENT YOUR BODIES AS LIVING SACRIFICES UNTO GOD. 

But HOW can one present one’s BODIES to God as a living sacrifice? 

To present your BODIES simply means to hand over your SENSES which make you BODY-RULED or FLESH-RULED, and to become SPIRIT-RULED or WORD-RULED toward Him instead. 

The human body is functional by the operation of the FIVE SENSES. These senses are: 
• Sight — Seeing 
• Hearing — Listening 
• Taste — Tasting 
• Touch — Feeling 
• Smell — Smelling 

These five senses have made and unmade humanity in various ways, in what they have become to themselves and in relation to OTHERS, intentionally and unintentionally. 

It was by these senses that man failed and fell in the first place with God and with himself. And many are still in such great danger in their daily walk with God. 

The Scriptures enjoin us to WALK by FAITH-SENSE — that is, by WORD-SENSE, for FAITH is functional by the WORD. It comes by the WORD and it is built up by the WORD. Hence we should not WALK by SIGHT-SENSE — the five senses of seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting and touching. 

More so, FAITH IS SPIRITUAL, and it is of the Holy Spirit. 

Therefore, PRESENTING YOUR SENSES TO BE SPIRIT-LED (WORD-LED) will ensure EASE and TRIUMPH in knowing and operating in God’s precious — GOOD, SURE, TRUE, ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT (wholesome, mature and complete) WILL for your life, and unhindered in the grace wherein you stand in Christ Jesus’ stead. SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye PRESENT YOUR BODIES (SENSES) a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may PROVE what is that GOOD, and ACCEPTABLE, and PERFECT, WILL of God” Romans 12:1-2 (Emphasis Mine). 

“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 but I keep under my BODY (SENSES), and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway” 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 (Emphasis Mine)

SUMMARY: 
The message is a prophetic teaching and practical exhortation that the EASIEST and SUREST way to know God’s WILL and to walk in daily TRIUMPH is to PRESENT YOUR BODIES (FLESH — SENSES) TO GOD AS LIVING SACRIFICES. It teaches that victory, clarity of purpose and the operative principle of God’s will are not found in being BODY-RULED or FLESH-RULED, but in becoming SPIRIT-RULED and WORD-RULED. When the five senses are submitted to the Holy Spirit, the Believer walks by FAITH-SENSE, not SIGHT-SENSE, and experiences ease, wholeness and victory in Christ Jesus’ stead. 

KEY POINTS: 

1. The Core Problem: BODY-RULED Living Produces Struggle

• Many Believers struggle in their walk with God, their relationships and daily affairs because they are led by the five senses: Sight, Hearing, Taste, Touch, Smell. 

• It was through the senses that man fell in the beginning — Genesis 3. The “lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life” are all sense-driven — 1 John 2:15-16. 

• A BODY-RULED or FLESH-RULED life leads to wars, fighting’s and unanswered prayers — James 4:1-3.  

2. The Divine Solution: PRESENT YOUR BODIES AS LIVING SACRIFICES

• Romans 12:1-2 gives the answer: Present your BODIES to God. This is your “reasonable service”. 

• To present your BODIES means to hand over your SENSES from being body-ruled to being SPIRIT-RULED (WORD-RULED). 

• When this happens, you are transformed by the renewing of your mind and can PROVE God’s GOOD, ACCEPTABLE and PERFECT WILL.

3. The Scriptural Mandate: WALK BY FAITH-SENSE, NOT SIGHT-SENSE

• “We WALK by FAITH, not by SIGHT (SENSES)” — 2 Corinthians 5:7 

• “WALK in the Spirit, and ye shall not FULFIL the LUST of the FLESH” — Galatians 5:16 

• FAITH is SPIRITUAL. It comes by the WORD, is functional by the WORD, and is built up by the WORD — Romans 10:17 

• They that are Christ’s have CRUCIFIED the FLESH (SENSUAL) with the affections and lusts — Galatians 5:24

4. The Result: EASE, TRIUMPH AND KNOWING GOD’S WILL

• Presenting your senses to be SPIRIT-LED ensures EASE and TRIUMPH in knowing and operating in God’s will. 

• Paul’s example: “I keep under my BODY (SENSES), and bring it into subjection” — 1 Corinthians 9:27 

• This posture positions you to be MORE THAN A CONQUEROR, an OVERCOMER and VICTORIOUS — Romans 8:37; 2 Corinthians 2:14  

5. The Spiritual Process: SUBMIT, RESIST, DRAW NIGH

• SUBMIT yourselves to God. RESIST the devil, and he will flee — James 4:7 

• CLEANSE your hands, PURIFY your hearts. HUMBLE yourselves and God will lift you up — James 4:8-10 

• This is how grace is received to live unhindered in Christ Jesus’ stead. 

CALL TO ACTION 

1. PRESENT YOUR BODIES TODAY. Make a deliberate act of surrender. Tell God: “My sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell belong to You.” — Romans 12:1 
2. STOP WALKING BY SIGHT-SENSE. START WALKING BY FAITH-SENSE. Feed on the WORD daily. Let it renew your mind and govern your decisions — Romans 12:2; Romans 10:17 
3. KEEP YOUR BODY UNDER. Like Paul, discipline your senses. Do not allow them to dictate your peace, choices or direction — 1 Corinthians 9:27 
4. WALK IN THE SPIRIT CONSISTENTLY. If we LIVE in the Spirit, let us also WALK in the Spirit. This crucifies the lusts of the flesh — Galatians 5:25, 24 
5. CHOOSE GOD OVER THE WORLD. Do not love the world nor the things in it. The one who DOES the WILL of God abides forever — 1 John 2:15-17 

Final Charge:
