WISDOM NUGGETS FOR THE YOUTH: ITS TIME TO MAKE A NEW YOU START-UP – TO BEAR YOUR OWN YOKE – IF NOT HAPPY AT HOME!
“It is GOOD for a man that he BEAR the YOKE in his YOUTH” Lamentations 3:27.
It’s AUGUST – the Eighth Month. Adam’s START-UP was on the 8th day, while God RESTED on the 7th day after creation, as in Genesis – The Holy Scriptural Book of Beginning. It’s time to stop living for ENTITLEMENT. It’s time to be CREATIVE and INNOVATIVE, to explore and initiate that beautiful ONWARD and UPWARD trajectory – the insights and foresights that you’ve so much dreamed of becoming.
So, if you think your PARENTS are harassing and bothering you, and you think you are a grown adult, then it is time to be PRINCIPLED and shoulder adult RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY – and all those bothering problems will be resolved. Otherwise, don’t complain. Enough of the ENTITLEMENT SYNDROME. You can’t lay claim to be treated as an adult with CHILDISH behaviour. Just be informed: No parent takes or tolerates such DOUBLE STANDARDS. A life that is worth living comes at a COST – it is not a giveaway. And you can make your best day for today and tomorrow a reality when you stand up to make your day count, and account for your good at your OWN COST. Therefore, ARISE. Dust off the ENTITLEMENT SYNDROME and take a new step of faith to own your today and tomorrow by launching out to bear your own burden and carry your own yoke as a GROWN ADULT.
“When I was a CHILD, I SPAKE as a CHILD, I UNDERSTOOD as a CHILD, I THOUGHT as a CHILD: but when I BECAME a MAN (ADULT), I put away CHILDISH things” 1 Corinthians 13:11 (Emphasis Mine).
If the YOKE is easy and PARENTS are TROUBLESOME, let the YOUTH give it a go without COMPLAINS and MURMURS. You can GET or CREATE a job – it’s all worth it for your YOKE-BEARING while it is day, before the night of life falls upon you and it is too late to make your good happen for you.
NOW GIVE IT A GO.
DON’T GIVE UP.
DON’T LIMIT YOURSELF – YOU CAN BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE BY GOD, IN HIS GRACE AND BLESSEDNESS, IN CHRIST JESUS’ STEAD.
SELAH – PAUSE AND THINK.
SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:

SUMMARY:
The core message is a prophetic charge to youths to embrace responsibility, accountability, and purpose, using the symbolism of AUGUST as Month 8 and Adam’s “START-UP” on the 8th day as a spiritual template.
KEY POINTS
- THE BIBLICAL FOUNDATION
- AUGUST = Month 8. The 8th day is presented as “a NEW BEGINNING”.
- Adam’s START-UP was on the 8th day after God RESTED on the 7th day of creation Genesis.
- Lamentations 3:27: “It is GOOD for a man that he BEAR the YOKE in his YOUTH” — this is the anchor scripture. Youth is the season to learn burden-bearing.
- 1 Corinthians 13:11: Maturity means putting away CHILDISH things, thoughts, and speech. Adulthood = responsibility.
- THE CENTRAL CHARGE: END ENTITLEMENT, EMBRACE RESPONSIBILITY
The message confronts “ENTITLEMENT SYNDROME” directly:
- Stop waiting to be given. A life worth living comes at a COST, not a giveaway.
- Be CREATIVE and INNOVATIVE. Explore and initiate your ONWARD and UPWARD trajectory. Pursue the insights and foresight you’ve dreamed of.
- If you feel PARENTS are harassing/bothering you, and you claim to be an adult — then act like one. Be PRINCIPLED. Shoulder RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY.
- Double standard rejected: You cannot demand to be treated as an adult while behaving with CHILDISHNESS. No parent tolerates that.
- THE CALL TO ACTION FOR YOUTH
- BEAR YOUR OWN YOKE. Don’t complain or murmur. John 9:4 principle — “work while it is day”.
- GET or CREATE a job. Take ownership. This is part of your YOKE-BEARING.

- SELAH — Pause and think. Reflect on the Scriptures.
- OVERALL THEME IN ONE SENTENCE
Youth is not the time for complaints and dependence. It is the 8th-day season to start up, bear your own yoke, reject entitlement, and walk in maturity, creativity, and God-given responsibility so you can fulfil purpose before it’s too late.
