The Father’s Heart – LOVE AT ITS BEST

October 16, 2026 By Pastor Chukie Leave a Comment

The Father’s Heart – LOVE AT ITS BEST: When You Do OWE NOTHING But LOVE – And To See LOVE As An Inescapable, Supreme And Global Obligation Without Prejudice!

“OWE no one ANYTHING except to LOVE one another, for he who LOVES another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all SUMMED up in this saying, namely, “You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself.” 10 LOVE does no harm to a neighbor; therefore LOVE is the FULFILLMENT of the law” Romans 13:8-10.

God’s LOVE is a beautiful gift given to us to share with one another and beyond borders. And this act of God’s love is the best and only way to serve God and the brethren in the grace. It is then that the Father’s heart is known — that we are His disciples indeed, as it is written:

“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by LOVE SERVE one another” Galatians 5:13.

Jesus instructed the disciples to love one another, for by this the world will distinguish them as His people and disciples. How much more is this needed and relevant today in our walk of grace, as it is written:

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another“ John 13:34-35.

Let us embrace God’s word in love, and without reservation, to OWE one another nothing except this gracious love given to us to share, as it is written, and then live in the FULLNESS of it as the true disciples [followers] of Father God in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. [Romans 13:8-10].

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:

“OWE no one ANYTHING except to LOVE one another, for he who LOVES another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all SUMMED up in this saying, namely, “You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself.” 10 LOVE does no harm to a neighbor; therefore LOVE is the FULFILLMENT of the law” Romans 13:8-10.

“Let LOVE BE WITHOUT DISSIMULATION (DISCRIMINATION, PREJUDICE, HYPOCRISY). Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with BROTHERLY LOVE; in honour preferring one another; 11 not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 RECOMPENSE to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine ENEMY hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good” Romans 12:9-21.

“Beloved, let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; FOR GOD IS LOVE. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also” 1 John 4:7-21.

SUMMARY
The message is a call to live out THE FATHER’S HEART through LOVE — not as an option, but as an inescapable, supreme, and global obligation without prejudice, discrimination or hypocrisy.

It presents God’s LOVE as the most beautiful gift given to believers, and the only true way to serve God and the brethren. The entire message centres on Romans 13:8-10: that we OWE no one anything except LOVE, because LOVE is the fulfilment of the law and the mark by which the world knows we are Christ’s disciples.

KEY POINTS:

  1. LOVE IS OUR SUPREME DEBT AND OBLIGATION
    Romans 13:8-10
We OWE no one anything except to LOVE one another. All commandments are summed up in “You shall LOVE your neighbour as yourself.” LOVE does no harm; therefore, LOVE is the FULFILMENT of the law.

  2. LOVE IS THE EVIDENCE OF DISCIPLESHIP
    John 13:34-35
Jesus commanded us to love one another as He loved us. By this LOVE the world will distinguish us as His people and disciples. This is most needed today in our walk of grace.

  3. LOVE IS HOW WE SERVE GOD AND THE BRETHREN
    Galatians 5:13
God’s LOVE is a beautiful gift to be shared beyond borders. Serving one another by LOVE is the best way to serve God. It is then that the Father’s heart is known through us.

  4. LOVE MUST BE WITHOUT DISSIMULATION
    Romans 12:9-21
LOVE must be without discrimination, prejudice or hypocrisy. It is kindly, hospitable, peaceable, and overcomes evil with good — even towards enemies.

  5. LOVE IS THE NATURE OF GOD IN US
    1 John 4:7-21
God IS LOVE. Everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. Perfect LOVE casts out fear, and as He is, so are we in this world.
  6. LOVE LIVED IN FULLNESS IS OUR IDENTITY
We are called to embrace God’s word without reservation and to live in the FULLNESS of this gracious LOVE as true disciples [followers] of Father God in Christ Jesus’ stead.

CALL TO ACTION:

  1. OWE LOVE ONLY — Romans 13:8
Make LOVE your daily, inescapable obligation to everyone — neighbour, brethren, and even enemies — without prejudice.
  2. SERVE ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE — Galatians 5:13
Use your liberty not for the flesh, but to serve God and people through practical acts of LOVE.
  3. LET YOUR LOVE BE GENUINE — Romans 12:9
Let LOVE be without dissimulation. Abhor evil, cleave to good, rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep, and overcome evil with good.
  4. LIVE AS CHRIST’S DISCIPLES — John 13:35
Let the world know you are His by the way you LOVE one another.
  5. WALK IN THE FULLNESS OF GOD’S LOVE — 1 John 4:16-17
Dwell in LOVE, because as God is, so are we in this world. Let perfect LOVE cast out fear.
