EXAMINE YOUR FAITH – DON’T BLAME GOD

September 25, 2026 By Pastor Chukie Leave a Comment

EXAMINE YOUR FAITH – DON’T BLAME GOD: DO YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT CHECKLIST TODAY!

“EXAMINE YOURSELVES, WHETHER YE BE IN THE FAITH; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be REPROBATES?” 2 Corinthians 13:5.

SELF-ASSESSMENT saves. SELF-APPRAISAL delivers and secures one from embarrassing oneself in the public domain.

It is a daily medicine of examining one’s faith in any context of doing life and living godly. It is enriching in our journey to fulfil God’s plan, purpose and pursuit for our lives.

“But let a man EXAMINE himself . . .” 1 Corinthians 11:28.

More so, it is high time for you to FEED YOUR FAITH and STARVE YOUR DOUBTS to enable God’s WORD to WORK for your good in LIFE and GRACE, as you give your EARS to the HEARING of the WORD of FAITH in order to thrive in life and godliness in Christ Jesus’ stead [Amos 8:11-14; Romans 10:8-10, 17; Proverbs 4:20-23].

If ‘FAITH’, which is the DEFAULT, LEGAL and VITAL TENDER to please, relate to and obtain God’s attention, COMES by the hearing of ‘THE WORD’, which is of God, it thus means: NO HEARING of THE WORD of God, means NO ‘FAITH’; and NO FAITH, means NO ACTIVATION can take place as expected to PLEASE God scripturally [Amos 8:11-14; Hebrews 11:6].

So, if I may ask, are you hearing and listening to THE WORD? [John 1:1-5; 1 John 5:7; Romans 10:8].
What WORD are you listening to?
What WORD are you hearing?
What WORD are you giving your attention to?
What sort of information are you FEEDING your spirit-being with?
Is it God who is SPEAKING or SAYING His WORD to you, or otherwise? [Proverbs 4:20-23; Romans 10:8-10].

You had better check it out, otherwise you may end up making God’s Word of NO EFFECT for your good, because of your TRADITIONS through IGNORANCE.

“Making THE WORD of God of NONE EFFECT through your TRADITION, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye” Mark 7:13.

Are you held bound by TRADITION and IGNORANCE? Yes — meaning held bound by our self-made culture, make-believe, dogmas, religiosity, religion and religious prejudice, and man-made creed, philosophy and indulgence, and more, which contradict God’s WORD — the basis for formulating our FAITH in God in Christ Jesus’ stead.

So, EXAMINE your FAITH before you lay blame on God, as some do when at crossroads and under crossfire.

Feed your FAITH and starve your DOUBTS to enable God’s WORD to WORK for your good and for your good name. [2 Corinthians 13:5]

Be BLESSED in Christ. Amen.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT:

“But let a man EXAMINE himself . . .” 1 Corinthians 11:28.

“So then FAITH COMETH by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of God” Romans 10:17.

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a FAMINE in the land, not a FAMINE OF BREAD, NOR A THIRST FOR WATER, BUT OF HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD: 12 and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. 13 In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst. 14 They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beer-sheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again” Amos 8:11-14.

“But WITHOUT FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 11:6.

“My son, ATTEND to my words; INCLINE THINE EAR UNTO MY SAYINGS. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” Proverbs 4:20-23.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, EVEN OUR FAITH. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1 John 5:4-5.

Further Scriptural Reading: Habakkuk 2:4; 1 Corinthians 9:24-27; Galatians 3:11; Mark 11:20-24; Hebrews 10:38; Romans 14:23.

SUMMARY:
The message is a Kingdom charge to EXAMINE YOUR FAITH and take responsibility for it — DON’T BLAME GOD. It calls us to daily SELF-ASSESSMENT, to FEED OUR FAITH by HEARING THE WORD, and to break free from TRADITION and IGNORANCE that make God’s Word of NONE EFFECT.

It teaches that FAITH is the VITAL TENDER to please God, and that FAITH only COMES by HEARING THE WORD. Therefore our spiritual health, victory, and onward trajectory depends on what we are listening to and feeding our spirit-being with.

KEY POINTS

  1. EXAMINE YOUR FAITH — DON’T BLAME GOD
  • “EXAMINE YOURSELVES, WHETHER YE BE IN THE FAITH” [2 Corinthians 13:5].
  • “But let a man EXAMINE himself” [1 Corinthians 11:28].
  • SELF-ASSESSMENT saves. SELF-APPRAISAL delivers and secures one from public embarrassment.
  • It is daily medicine for doing life and living godly, and it enriches our fulfilment of God’s plan, purpose and pursuit.
  1. FAITH COMES BY HEARING THE WORD
  • “So then FAITH COMETH by HEARING, and HEARING by the WORD of God” [Romans 10:17].
  • FAITH is the DEFAULT, LEGAL and VITAL TENDER to please, relate to and obtain God’s attention [Hebrews 11:6].
  • NO HEARING of THE WORD = NO FAITH. NO FAITH = NO ACTIVATION to please God scripturally.
  • FEED YOUR FAITH and STARVE YOUR DOUBTS by giving your EARS to the HEARING of the WORD of FAITH [Amos 8:11-14; Proverbs 4:20-23].
  1. GUARD WHAT YOU ARE FEEDING YOUR SPIRIT
  • Ask: What WORD am I listening to? What am I giving attention to? Is it God who is SPEAKING to me?
  • “ATTEND to my words; INCLINE THINE EAR UNTO MY SAYINGS” [Proverbs 4:20-21].
  • There is a coming FAMINE — “NOT A FAMINE OF BREAD, NOR A THIRST FOR WATER, BUT OF HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD” [Amos 8:11].
  • What we feed our spirit-being with determines whether we thrive in life and godliness in Christ Jesus’ stead.
  1. BREAK FREE FROM TRADITION AND IGNORANCE
  • “Making THE WORD of God of NONE EFFECT through your TRADITION” [Mark 7:13].
  • TRADITION and IGNORANCE include: self-made culture, make-believe, dogmas, religiosity, religion, religious prejudice, man-made creed, philosophy and indulgence.
  • These contradict God’s WORD — the basis for formulating our FAITH in God in Christ Jesus’ stead.
  • EXAMINE your FAITH before you lay blame on God when at crossroads and under crossfire.
  1. THE RESULT OF FAITH BUILT ON THE WORD
  • “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, EVEN OUR FAITH” [1 John 5:4].
  • Without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to PLEASE God [Hebrews 11:6].
  • God’s WORD WORKING for your good in LIFE and GRACE produces victory, health, and a good name.

CALL TO ACTION

  1. DO YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT TODAY: Set time to EXAMINE YOUR FAITH. Ask, “Is Christ in me? Am I living by FAITH or by FATE?” [2 Corinthians 13:5]
  2. FEED YOUR FAITH DAILY: INCLINE YOUR EARS to THE WORD [Proverbs 4:20]. Prioritise Scripture, sound teaching, and God’s voice over noise and tradition.
  3. STARVE YOUR DOUBTS: Cut off information, traditions and conversations that contradict God’s WORD and weaken FAITH.
  4. REJECT TRADITION THAT NULLIFIES THE WORD: Identify self-made culture, dogmas and religious prejudice in your life. Choose the SURE WORD over man-made creeds [Mark 7:13].
  5. BELIEVE AND ACTIVATE: Remember, WITHOUT FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God [Hebrews 11:6]. Act on what you hear so God’s WORD can WORK for your good.
  6. STAY IN THE WORD TO OVERCOME: “THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT OVERCOMETH THE WORLD, EVEN OUR FAITH” [1 John 5:4]. Keep feeding until faith becomes your lifestyle.
