GREED AND COVETOUSNESS – “THE LOVE OF MONEY”: THE THREE MAJOR CAUSES AND THEIR SIDE EFFECTS! 

“For THE LOVE of MONEY is the ROOT of ALL EVIL: which while some COVETED after, they have ERRED from the FAITH, and PIERCED themselves through with many SORROWS” 1 Timothy 6:10/Emphasis Mine. 

Money — Finance — is a de facto medium of exchange. On its own, it is not EVIL, nor an EVIL, nor the ROOT of EVIL, nor the ROOT of all EVIL as some have claimed; but it is ‘THE LOVE OF MONEY’ — and to put it simply — “THE LOVE OF MONEY” in itself, is the ROOT OF ALL EVIL. 

And as highly priced as money is to many, let us not forget that money itself can lose its value and pricing. We have seen many times where nations have had to devalue their currency in order to be considered relevant in the marketplaces. We have seen economic meltdowns and the devaluation of items purchased with money. 

And the first place of money’s failure in value was in the first civilised nation of the world, Egypt. And the effect was devastating and consequential to nations, as written: 

“So when the MONEY FAILED in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “GIVE US BREAD, FOR WHY SHOULD WE DIE IN YOUR PRESENCE? FOR THE MONEY HAS FAILED, 16 Then Joseph said, “Give your livestock, and I will give you bread for your livestock, if the money is gone.” 17 So they brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, the flocks, the cattle of the herds, and for the donkeys. Thus he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock that year. 18 When that year had ended, they came to him the next year and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord that our money is gone; my lord also has our herds of livestock. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our lands. 19 Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? BUY US AND OUR LAND FOR BREAD, and we and our land will be servants of Pharaoh; give us seed, that we may live and not die, that the land may not be desolate” Genesis 47:19-/NKJV 

However, money is GOOD. It’s a great means of defence that answers and still answers man’s QUEST in doing life, especially when diligently, wisely and prudently obtained and expended without prejudice, sentiments and dissimulation. 

“Do not say, Why were the old days better than these? For it is not wise or because of wisdom that you ask this. 11 Wisdom is as good as an inheritance, yes, more excellent it is for those [the living] who see the sun. 12 FOR WISDOM IS A DEFENSE EVEN AS MONEY IS A DEFENSE, but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom shields and preserves the life of him who has it” Ecclesiastes 7:10-12/Amplified Classic Edition. 

However, ‘THE LOVE OF MONEY’ has some CAUSES and side EFFECTS, especially when obtained by GREED and COVETOUSNESS. Herein are THREE WARNING SIGNS in order not to be in a position of being captivated and enslaved by — THE LOVE OF MONEY — that is obtained by GREED and COVETOUSNESS and the like: 

  1. It causes WORRY: 
    A lack of Sleep — sleepless moments when the balance sheet is not meeting expectations or is overwhelmingly breaking your set point. 
    “The SLEEP of a LABOURING man is SWEET, whether he eat little or much: BUT THE ABUNDANCE OF THE RICH WILL NOT SUFFER HIM TO SLEEP” Ecclesiastes 5:12. 
    “The SLEEP of a WORKING man is SWEET, whether he eats little or much; BUT THE FULL STOMACH — GREED — OF THE RICH [WHO HUNGERS FOR EVEN MORE] WILL NOT LET HIM SLEEP” Ecclesiastes 5:12 / Amplified.
  2. It causes DISSATISFACTION: 
    It allows greediness and covetousness to breed in all forms, thereby creating discomfort and an unhealthy sphere.
    “He that LOVETH SILVER shall not be SATISFIED with SILVER; nor he that LOVETH ABUNDANCE with INCREASE: this is also VANITY” Ecclesiastes 5:10.
    “He who LOVES MONEY will not be SATISFIED with MONEY, nor he who LOVES ABUNDANCE with its GAIN. This too is VANITY — EMPTINESS” Ecclesiastes 5:10 / Amplified.
  3. It causes TEMPTATION:
    It allows and leads to the breaking of SET RULES and REGULATIONS, even STATUTORY law, in order to get and acquire more at any cost — which many have become accustomed to.
    “A FAITHFUL man shall ABOUND with blessings: BUT HE THAT MAKETH HASTE TO BE RICH SHALL NOT BE INNOCENT. 21 To have respect of persons is not good: FOR A PIECE OF BREAD THAT MAN WILL TRANSGRESS. 22 He that HASTETH TO BE RICH hath AN EVIL EYE, and considereth not that POVERTY shall come upon him” Proverbs 28:20-22.
    “The TRUSTWORTHY person will get a RICH reward, but A PERSON WHO WANTS QUICK RICHES WILL GET INTO TROUBLE. 21 Showing partiality is never good, YET SOME WILL DO WRONG FOR A MERE PIECE OF BREAD. 22 GREEDY PEOPLE TRY TO GET RICH QUICK but don’t realise they’re headed for poverty” Proverbs 28:20-22 / NLT. 

Money is good in itself when it is made to serve, or be a servant, and not as lord to any and every vita doing life. 

Make it your servant or errand tool only and not your life controller, then you will experience PEACE of mind indescribable. With peace of mind one is able to be CONTENTED, live GODLY, and to keep temptation, worry — anxiety — and dissatisfaction at bay. 

I pray you will not be entangled in bondage as a money lover for mere self and selfish gratifications at the expense of others, the rule of law, and the decency and order in and for the community.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“For THE LOVE of MONEY is the ROOT of ALL EVIL: which while some COVETED after, they have ERRED from the FAITH, and PIERCED themselves through with many SORROWS” 1 Timothy 6:10/Emphasis Mine. 

“A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: BUT MONEY ANSWERETH ALL THINGS” Ecclesiastes 10:19. 

“If any man teach OTHERWISE, and consent not to WHOLESOME WORDS, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to GODLINESS; 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, SUPPOSING that GAIN IS GODLINESS: from such WITHDRAW thyself. 6 But GODLINESS with CONTENTMENT is GREAT GAIN. 7 For we brought NOTHING into this world, and it is certain we can CARRY NOTHING OUT” 1 Timothy 6:3-7. 

“But if anyone DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR HIS OWN, and especially for those of his HOUSEHOLD, he has DENIED THE FAITH and is WORSE THAN AN UNBELIEVER” 1 Timothy 5:8/NKJV 

“WISDOM is good with an inheritance: and by it there is PROFIT to them that see the sun. 12 FOR WISDOM IS A DEFENCE, AND MONEY IS A DEFENCE: but the EXCELLENCY of KNOWLEDGE is, that WISDOM giveth LIFE to them that have it” Ecclesiastes 7:11-12. 

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, we give you this command in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ: STAY AWAY FROM ALL BELIEVERS WHO LIVE IDLE LIVES AND DON’T FOLLOW THE TRADITION THEY RECEIVED FROM US. 7 For you know that you ought to IMITATE us. We were NOT IDLE when we were with you. 8 WE NEVER ACCEPTED FOOD FROM ANYONE WITHOUT PAYING FOR IT. We WORKED hard day and night so we would NOT BE A BURDEN to any of you. 9 We certainly had the right to ask you to feed us, but we wanted to give you an EXAMPLE to follow. 10 Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “THOSE UNWILLING TO WORK WILL NOT GET TO EAT.” 11 Yet we hear that some of you are LIVING IDLE LIVES, REFUSING TO WORK AND MEDDLING IN OTHER PEOPLE’S BUSINESS. 12 We COMMAND such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to SETTLE DOWN AND WORK TO EARN THEIR OWN LIVING” 2 Thessalonians 3:6-12/NLT

AUGUST YOUR LIFE BY GOD’S ENABLING POWER

AUGUST YOUR LIFE BY GOD’S ENABLING POWER: JESUS CHRIST – THE POWER OF GOD! 

“Jesus answered and said unto them, YE DO ERR (ERRONEOUS, MISTAKEN), not KNOWING THE SCRIPTURES, nor THE POWER of God” Matthew 22:29 (Emphasis Mine). 

God’s enabling POWER will AUGUST you beyond human capacity, position you in life and grace far beyond human compression and limitations, and give you such wisdom to innovate, create and initiate good for human consumption. It will make you a true and genuine witness of God’s TRUTH in humanity, and much more besides, in God’s BLESSEDNESS in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

And it is gracious to know also that our Saviour and Lord Jesus, who is the central person of the preaching of the Gospel of the cross, He is THE POWER of God and THE WISDOM of God to both the Jews and the Gentiles, in defining the make-up of THE CHURCH of God, in Christ Jesus’ stead, as it is written. Amen. 

“For the PREACHING OF THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is THE POWER of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in THE WISDOM of God the world by WISDOM knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 but we PREACH Christ crucified, unto the JEWS a stumblingblock, and unto the GREEKS foolishness; 24 but unto them which are called, both JEWS and GREEKS, Christ THE POWER of God, and THE WISDOM of God” 1 Corinthians 1:18-24. 

The term or name AUGUST thus means to INSPIRE (or inspiring), to REVERENCE, to have in ADMIRATION, to uphold SUPREME, to have in DIGNITY OR GRANDEUR, to be MAJESTIC, VENERABLE, EMINENT, GRAND AND LORDLY. And in line with the MONTH AUGUST THEME, which is to “AUGUST YOUR LIFE BY GOD’S ENABLING POWER” in Christ Jesus stead, you can infer to Month AUGUST as a Month to be DIGNIFIED, to be REVERED, to be ADMIRED, to be MAJESTIC, to be EMINENT, to be VENERABLE, to be GRAND and more of such like . . . as you ensure that you are enabled by God’s power. 

I employ you therefore, to meditate on these but not limited SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS that’s WORTH PONDERING in context, on God’s enabling POWER that gives the rights to enjoy His BLESSEDNESS in life and grace, in Christ Jesus stead. Amen. 

Herein are but not limited the doing of God’s enabling POWER to AUGUST:

  • POWER TO “GET (CREATE) WEALTH” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that GIVETH THEE POWER TO GET (CREATE) WEALTH, that he may ESTABLISH His COVENANT which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day” Deuteronomy 8:18.  

  • *POWER TO “WITNESS AND BE A WITNESS” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“But ye shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be WITNESSES unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” Acts 1:8. 

  • POWER TO STAND “AGAINST UNCLEAN SPIRITS AND SUCH LIKE” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“And when he had CALLED unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them POWER AGAINST unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Lebbæus, whose surname was Thaddæus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. 5 These twelve Jesus SENT FORTH, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give . . . .” Matthew 10:1-42. 

  • POWER TO “HEAL SICKNESSES AND DISEASES AND CAST OUT DEVILS” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“And he goeth up into a mountain, and CALLETH unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ORDAINED twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might SEND THEM FORTH TO PREACH, 15 and to have POWER TO HEAL sicknesses, and to cast out devils: 16 and Simon he surnamed Peter; 17 and James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphæus, and Thaddæus, and Simon the Canaanite, 19 and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house” Mark 3:13-19. 

  • POWER TO “BECOME” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“But as many as RECEIVED him, to them GAVE He POWER TO BECOME the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on his name: 13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” John 1:12-13. 

  • POWER TO “TREAD OVER THE POWER OF THE ENEMY AND COHORTS” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I GIVE unto you POWER TO TREAD on serpents and scorpions, and over all the POWER of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven” Luke 10:17-20. 

  • POWER TO EXPERIENCE “GREAT POWER ACCOMPANIED WITH GREAT GRACE” IN GOD’S BLESSEDNESS IN CHRIST JESUS STEAD 

“And with GREAT POWER gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and GREAT GRACE was upon them all” Acts 4:33.  

SUMMARY: 
This message is a charge for the Month of August. The core idea is that God’s enabling power is what dignifies, elevates and establishes a believer’s life. The word “AUGUST” is used both as the month and as a verb meaning to inspire, to be revered, admired, majestic, eminent and grand. 

KEY POINTS: 

  1. The Foundation: Knowing Scripture and Power

The message begins with a warning against error caused by ignorance. 
“Jesus answered and said unto them, YE DO ERR, not KNOWING THE SCRIPTURES, nor THE POWER of God”

The answer is Christ — the power of God and the wisdom of God. 
“For the PREACHING OF THE CROSS is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is THE POWER of God… but unto them which are called, both JEWS and GREEKS, Christ THE POWER of God, and THE WISDOM of God”

Jesus is the central person of the Gospel and through Him God defines the make-up of the Church. 

  1. The Meaning of “August”

In line with the month theme, August means to inspire, to reverence, to admire, to uphold as supreme, to be majestic, venerable, eminent and grand. 
So August is to be a month where you are dignified, revered, admired and eminent — as you are enabled by God’s power. 

  1. What God’s Enabling Power Does

God’s enabling power will augment you beyond human capacity and position you in life and grace far beyond human limitations. It gives wisdom to innovate, create and initiate good for human consumption, and makes you a true witness of God’s truth. 

Seven specific workings highlighted: 

Power to get wealth 
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that GIVETH THEE POWER TO GET WEALTH, that he may ESTABLISH His COVENANT” 
Reference: Deuteronomy 8:18 

Power to witness 
“But ye shall receive POWER, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be WITNESSES unto me… unto the uttermost part of the earth” 
Reference: Acts 1:8 

Power against unclean spirits 
“And when he had CALLED unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them POWER AGAINST unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness” 
Reference: Matthew 10:1 

Power to heal and cast out devils 
“and he ORDAINED twelve… and to have POWER TO HEAL sicknesses, and to cast out devils” 
Reference: Mark 3:14-15 

Power to become sons of God 
“But as many as RECEIVED him, to them GAVE He POWER TO BECOME the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on his name” 
Reference: John 1:12-13 

Power over the enemy 
“Behold, I GIVE unto you POWER TO TREAD on serpents and scorpions, and over all the POWER of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”

Power with great grace 
“And with GREAT POWER gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and GREAT GRACE was upon them all”

  1. The Call

You are called to meditate on these scriptures. As God’s enabling power rests on you, your life is augusted — dignified and made eminent for His glory, in God’s blessedness in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

In one line: 
This August, rely not on human strength. By God’s enabling power in Christ Jesus, your life will be augmented to create, witness, heal, overcome and walk in grace.

INCLINE YOUR LIFE TO – “THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”

INCLINE YOUR LIFE TO – “THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”: FOR JESUS CHRIST IS – “THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”! 

“But unto you that FEAR MY NAME shall the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS arise with HEALING in his wings; and ye shall go forth, AND GROW UP AS CALVES OF THE STALL” Malachi 4:2. 

Your INCLINATION will always DEFINE you in Christ Jesus’ stead. 
I want you to PAUSE and THINK about it as you ponder over this writing today. 

Therefore, incline your life to — THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which is JESUS CHRIST, for He will beam His HEALING and HEALTH upon you and set you up on high to glow in glory and grace, in God’s BLESSEDNESS in Him. 

The moon has no light of its own, but when it inclines fully to the sun, the sun beams its light of glory and grace upon the moon, then we behold the magnificent glory and beauty of the moon — and scientists call it then — FULL MOON; but if not, it is called OPAQUE — DARK MOON. Yet it is only the reflection received from the point of inclination that determines and shows the difference. 

The headlamp unit of a car has no light of its own apart from the silver linings designed to give a divergent output. When the little bulb fitted into the unit is switched on, we see a beam of light rays, and with the switch point regulated to give the required amount of reflection, we may say the headlamp light is on high beam, low beam, or full beam. It is simply the inclination of the silver linings within the parameters of the tiny bulb that produces an intense light reflection to give clarity on the path of travel or use. 

In the same way, as humans you have no light of your own, but when you turn the battles that are yours over to God by INCLINING your hearing ear to the sayings of God, in the Name of Jesus Christ, who is — THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, He will BEAM the rays of righteous healing to all your various life matters such as: physical, spiritual, emotional, marital and other relationships, ministerial and leadership, career, business, governance and such like. 

It was an encounter such as this — Apostle Paul’s MIDDAY experience with the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS — that transformed and translated his life forever as written in “And at MIDDAY, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me” Acts 26:13-19 [Colossians 1:13-14]. 

I pray for you now to see the need to incline your hearing ear to THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS — JESUS, that He may beam His life upon you and give you the needed access to receive the enabling grace for your healing and health in His RIGHTEOUSNESS. 

WHEN YOU INCLINE YOUR HEARING EAR — THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WILL BEAM ON YOU HIS BLESSEDNESS — IT’S FOR YOUR LIFE AND GRACE. 
AMEN.  

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“But the PATH OF THE JUST is as the SHINING LIGHT, that SHINETH more and more unto the PERFECT (DAWN) day . . . 20 My son, attend to my words; INCLINE THINE EAR UNTO MY SAYINGS. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, AND HEALTH TO ALL THEIR FLESH. 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the ISSUES OF LIFE” Proverbs 4:18-23. 

“And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19 WE HAVE ALSO A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the DAY DAWN, and the DAY STAR arise in your hearts: 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” 2 Peter 1:19-21. 

“For God, who commanded the LIGHT to SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, hath SHINED in our HEARTS, to give the LIGHT of the KNOWLEDGE of the glory of God in the FACE of Jesus Christ” 2 Corinthians 4:6. 

“As long as I AM IN THE WORLD, I AM THE LIGHT of the world” John 9:5. 

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD: he that followeth me shall not WALK IN DARKNESS, but shall HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE” John 8:12. 

“In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with God, and THE WORD was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were MADE BY HIM; and without HIM was not any thing made that was made. 4 In HIM was life; and the life was the LIGHT of men. 5 And the LIGHT shineth in darkness; and the darkness COMPREHENDED it not” John 1:1-5. 

“YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A city that is SET ON AN HILL cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:14-16. 

SUMMARY: 
The entire message is a charge to deliberately INCLINE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS, who is “THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS”. Your spiritual position, health, and glory are determined by where and to whom you incline. What you reflect will always be a result of what you are facing. 

KEY POINTS 

  1. THE FOUNDATION: JESUS IS THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 
  • The scripture declares: “But unto you that FEAR MY NAME shall the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS arise with HEALING in his wings; and ye shall go forth, AND GROW UP AS CALVES OF THE STALL” Malachi 4:2. 
  • Jesus Christ IS THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. In Him is healing, health, glory, and grace. 
  • Just as the moon has no light of its own, as humans you have no light of your own. Your brilliance is a reflection. 
  • When the moon inclines fully to the sun, we see FULL MOON — glory and beauty. When it does not, it is OPAQUE — DARK MOON. 
  • This is the same principle as a car headlamp: the bulb has little power, but the inclination of the silver linings produces intense light for the path ahead. 
  1. THE PRINCIPLE: INCLINATION DEFINES REFLECTION 
  • Your INCLINATION will always DEFINE you in Christ Jesus’ stead. 
  • To incline means to turn your hearing ear, your heart, and your attention. 
  • When you INCLINE your hearing ear to the sayings of God, in the Name of Jesus Christ — THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, He will BEAM the rays of righteous healing into every area of your life: physical, spiritual, emotional, marital, ministerial, career, business, governance, and such like. 
  • The result: He will set you on high to glow in glory and grace, in God’s BLESSEDNESS. 
  1. THEBIBLICAL PATTERN: TRANSFORMATION BY BEHOLDING THE LIGHT 
  • Apostle Paul’s MIDDAY experience is the example. It was an encounter with the SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS that transformed and translated his life forever: 
    “And at MIDDAY, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me” Acts 26:13-19 [Colossians 1:13-14]. 
  • God’s WORD is light: “WE HAVE ALSO A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the DAY DAWN, and the DAY STAR arise in your hearts” 2 Peter 1:19-21. 
  • Jesus is the Light: “As long as I AM IN THE WORLD, I AM THE LIGHT of the world” John 9:5. “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD: he that followeth me shall not WALK IN DARKNESS, but shall HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE” John 8:12. 
  • The WORD is Light and Life: “In HIM was life; and the life was the LIGHT of men. And the LIGHT shineth in darkness” John 1:1-5. 
  • God shines in us: “For God, who commanded the LIGHT to SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, hath SHINED in our HEARTS, to give the LIGHT of the KNOWLEDGE of the glory of God in the FACE of Jesus Christ” 2 Corinthians 4:6. 
  1. THECHARGE: GUARD YOUR HEART AND INCLINE TO THE WORD 
  • The PATH OF THE JUST is as the SHINING LIGHT, that SHINETH more and more unto the PERFECT day Proverbs 4:18-23. 
  • Therefore: “My son, attend to my words; INCLINE THINE EAR UNTO MY SAYINGS… For they are life unto those that find them, AND HEALTH TO ALL THEIR FLESH. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the ISSUES OF LIFE” Proverbs 4:20-23. 
  • As believers, we are called to reflect Him: “YE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A city that is SET ON AN HILL cannot be hid… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:14-16. 
  1. THEBENEDICTION AND PRAYER 

The message closes with a prayer that you will see the need to incline your hearing ear to THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS — JESUS, so that He may beam His life upon you and give you enabling grace for healing and health in His RIGHTEOUSNESS.

YOU ARE BORN OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS TO THRIVE: YOU ARE NOT BORN TO SURVIVE AND YOU ARE NOT A SURVIVOR! 

“GIVING THANKS to the Father who has QUALIFIED us to be PARTAKERS of the INHERITANCE of the saints in the light. 13 He has DELIVERED us from the power of darkness and CONVEYED us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have REDEMPTION through His blood, the FORGIVENESS of sins” Colossians 1:12-14/NKJV. 

It’s time to live and speak well of who you ARE in God in Christ Jesus’ stead, and not of what life circumstances and situations want you to be, or define you by, or class you as – when you know it contradicts who and what you are and have become in the New Creation Testament of God’s BLESSEDNESS. 

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has BLESSED us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He CHOSE us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having PREDESTINED us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will” Ephesians 1:3-5. 

Therefore, don’t just EXIST – LIFE IS WORTH THE LIVING – LIVE it then – make it HAPPEN – make each day count and account for your good and goodness, according to God’s Word, by God’s divine power, in God’s BLESSEDNESS, in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

“GRACE and PEACE be multiplied to you in the KNOWLEDGE of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His DIVINE POWER has GIVEN to us ALL THINGS that PERTAIN to LIFE and GODLINESS, through the KNOWLEDGE of Him who CALLED us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been GIVEN to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be PARTAKERS of the DIVINE NATURE, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 2 Peter 1:2-4/NKJV. 

And know for SURE today, that living is about the bonding and abiding within us of these elements of God’s BLESSEDNESS in Christ Jesus: 

  •  HOPE 
  •  FAITH 
  •  LOVE 

“And now abide FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, these three; but the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinthians 13:13. 

“Remembering without ceasing your WORK of FAITH, and LABOUR of LOVE, and PATIENCE of HOPE in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father” 1 Thessalonians 1:3. 

And in Christ Jesus, it is in our applying these elements in the principles of the context, as we do LIFE and live GODLY in God’s graciousness and gracefulness, that we THRIVE and BECOME in God’s BLESSEDNESS in Christ Jesus’ stead – and not to SURVIVE or be a SURVIVAL by any means in the world. 

  •  By BEING PATIENCE in whatever you are so keen to pursue and achieve in HOPE; 
  •  By endeavouring to live through LOVE in all you set to LABOUR to achieve; 
  •  And by ensuring FAITH as a living currency in your process of WORK to achieve that desired intent. 

Our God in redemption has not only delivered us and translated us [Colossians 1:13-14] in Christ Jesus but has promised to DELIVER us daily from the evil that is in this our present world. The evil and wickedness of all sorts that creates the effects which have made some to be under the shadow of the survival of the fittest, as the saying goes. God knows that His WILL in His WORD can cause us to access His promises for our inheritance – that which is available and set ready for all whom He has SANCTIFIED – set apart in redemption in Christ Jesus. Amen. 

“Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins, that he might DELIVER us from this PRESENT EVIL WORLD, according to the WILL of God and our Father: 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” Galatians 1:3-5.

When we apply these principles as we do LIFE and live GODLY in God’s graciousness, we THRIVE and BECOME in God’s BLESSEDNESS. We refuse to wear the badge of survival.

  • MEASURE your living WORTH by HOPE, FAITH and LOVE, even as in God’s Word. 
  • Don’t just EXIST — LIFE IS WORTH THE LIVING. LIVE it. Make it HAPPEN. Make each day count for your good and goodness.

LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW: THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE – GIVES, ENSURES AND ASSURES FREEDOM AND EMPOWERS VICTORY AND DOMINION IN LIFE AND GRACE! 

“For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus hath MADE ME FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH” Romans 8:2. 

Do you DESIRE REDEMPTIVE FREEDOM in Christ Jesus’ stead? There is a HIGHER LAW that makes it all possible IN THE GRACE. It is by LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW – which is THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus. It guarantees, gives, and ensures ASSURED FREEDOM, and EMPOWERS VICTORY and DOMINION in life and grace in Christ Jesus’ stead. And just as it is certainly written Romans 8:2, so also Galatians 5:1, 13, 16-18, indicates this freedom – when we ARE operating in the realm of the spirit of life and not in the flesh [the law of sin and death – that of bondage] as written: 

“It was for this FREEDOM that Christ set us FREE [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed] . . . 5 For we [not relying on the Law but] through the [strength and power of the Holy] Spirit, by faith, are waiting [confidently] for the hope of righteousness [the completion of our salvation] . . . 13 For you, my brothers, were CALLED TO FREEDOM; ONLY DO NOT let your FREEDOM become an opportunity for the SINFUL NATURE (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another . . . 16 But I say, WALK HABITUALLY in the [Holy] Spirit [seek Him and be RESPONSIVE to His guidance], and then you will CERTAINLY NOT CARRY OUT THE DESIRE OF THE SINFUL NATURE [which responds impulsively without regard for God and His precepts]. 17 For the sinful nature has its desire which is opposed to the Spirit, and the [desire of the] Spirit opposes the sinful nature; for these [two, the sinful nature and the Spirit] are in direct opposition to each other [continually in conflict], so that you [as believers] do not [always] do whatever [good things] you want to do. 18 But if you are GUIDED and LED by the Spirit, you are not subject to the Law” Galatians 5:1-18/Amplified  

In life, there is no single educational system in the world designed to educate people to tell lies or cheat or run down government or to create any of the societal vices, or epidemics and pandemics in terms of sicknesses and DISEASES, or to create the INHUMANE, EVIL and WICKEDNESS we find in communities and societies and nations today. Do you know of any institution that teaches and lectures any of the things mentioned or such like? I can tell you such institutions would be cracked down on immediately by the state. 

However, in human nature there is A LAW OF NATURE in doing life – it is THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH, which is operating, knowingly or unknowingly, on earth in every phase of doing life. And everyone, by virtue of being born on earth, finds themselves exhibiting one or more of the traits of this law in their human nature and are affected directly or indirectly by the consequence of its operations. 

But there is another law – THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS. This LAW gives LEVERAGE over THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH [Romans 8:1-2]. SIN is the cause and effect for SICKNESS, POVERTY AND SPIRITUAL DEATH. And SPIRITUAL DEATH results in PHYSICAL DEATH, invariably resulting in some to ETERNAL DEATH, knowingly and unknowingly, in rejecting the redemptive freedom that God offers through Christ Jesus’ stead in the grace. For Apostle Paul found out that there was a struggle within him with the law of sin and death that was operating in him. This is also applicable to everyone that is not born of God in Christ Jesus, and though one may have been born of God, but has not allowed the Holy Spirit – who is the governance of THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT AND LIFE in Christ Jesus – to take hold and have pre-eminence over their well-being in total. 

“For I joyfully delight in THE LAW of God in my inner self [with my new nature], 23 but I see a different law and rule of action in the members of my body [in its appetites and desires], WAGING WAR AGAINST THE LAW OF MY MIND and subduing me and making me a prisoner of THE LAW OF SIN which is within my members. 24 Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]? 25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with MY MIND [SPIRIT-MIND] SERVE THE LAW of God, but on the other, with MY FLESH [my HUMAN NATURE, my WORLDLINESS, my SINFUL CAPACITY—I SERVE] THE LAW OF SIN” Romans 7:22-25/AMP. 

Hence THE HIGHER LAW is the LAW that enables one to live in DOMINION over All bondages which are the consequence and effect of THE SIN NATURE: POVERTY, SICKNESS and SPIRITUAL DEATH.

Therefore, it is imperative that you CONNECT to THE HIGHER LAW today, and live FREE in Christ for VIRTUE and GLORY. 

I urge you, therefore, in Christ Jesus’ stead, to STRIVE LAWFULLY on THE HIGHER LAW in order to WIN in life, to live in DOMINION and VICTORY and to be FULFILLED – all effortlessly and without sweat in God’s GRACE and BLESSEDNESS. 

“And if a man also STRIVE FOR MASTERIES, yet is he NOT CROWNED, except he STRIVE LAWFULLY” 2 Timothy 2:5. 

LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW – THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS – SETS ONE FREE AND KEEPS ONE IN THE REALM OF DOMINION. 

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus hath MADE ME FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH” Romans 8:2.

“Therefore there is NOW NO CONDEMNATION [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who ARE in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. 2 For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our NEW BEING] has set you FREE from THE LAW OF SIN AND OF DEATH. 3 For what THE LAW could not do [that is, OVERCOME sin and REMOVE its PENALTY, its POWER] being weakened by THE FLESH [man’s nature WITHOUT the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. SUMMARY: 

This is a doctrinal and prophetic charge calling Believers to transition from bondage into freedom by operating under THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS instead of THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH. 

  1. THE CENTRAL CONTRAST: TWO LAWS GOVERNING HUMANITY

The message presents 2 opposing governing laws at work in “doing life”: 

THE LAW OF SIN AND DEATH 
This is the default “LAW OF NATURE” operating in every human by virtue of birth on earth. 
Effect: It produces SICKNESS, POVERTY, SPIRITUAL DEATH → PHYSICAL DEATH → ETERNAL DEATH for those who reject God’s redemptive freedom. 
It manifests as societal vices, inhumanity, evil, wickedness, and the struggle Paul described in Romans 7:22-25. Even a born-again Believer experiences this struggle if they do not yield to the Holy Spirit.

THE HIGHER LAW: THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS 
This is the governing principle of the New Creation. 
Effect: It GIVES LEVERAGE over the law of sin and death. It GUARANTEES, ENSURES and ASSURES FREEDOM, and EMPOWERS VICTORY and DOMINION. Romans 8:1-2 
It sets one free and keeps one in the realm of DOMINION. 

  1. THE PROBLEM: BONDAGE OF THE FLESH

No educational system teaches people to lie, cheat, or create epidemics and wickedness. Yet these exist because of the law of sin and death in human nature. 
Romans 8:6-8 explains: THE MIND OF THE FLESH IS DEATH and is ACTIVELY HOSTILE to God. Those in the flesh CANNOT PLEASE God. 
The Law itself was weak to overcome this because of the flesh. Romans 8:3 

  1. THE SOLUTION: REDEMPTION AND THE SPIRIT

God solved this by sending Christ. He CONDEMNED SIN in the flesh so that the requirement of the Law might be FULFILLED in us who walk in THE WAYS OF THE SPIRIT.Romans 8:3-4 
Therefore there is NOW NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus.Romans 8:1 
Freedom is not lawlessness. It is freedom to serve in love, not an opportunity for the sinful nature. Galatians 5:1, 13 
It requires: WALKING HABITUALLY in the Spirit and being GUIDED and LED by the Spirit. Galatians 5:16, 18 

  1. THE IMPERATIVE: STRIVE LAWFULLY ON THE HIGHER LAW

Because the Higher Law exists, it is imperative that every Believer CONNECT to THE HIGHER LAW today to live FREE for VIRTUE and GLORY. 
This requires STRIVING LAWFULLY — just as an athlete is not crowned except, he strives lawfully. 2 Timothy 2:5 
Purpose of striving lawfully: 

To WIN in life 

To live in DOMINION and VICTORY 

To be FULFILLED — effortlessly and without sweat in God’s GRACE and BLESSEDNESS. 

This is not mental exertion, but Spirit-energised living under grace. 

  1. SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS FOR PONDERING

The message anchors on 3 key passages: 

Romans 8:1-8 AMP: The law of the Spirit of Life has set us free. We are to set our minds on the Spirit, not the flesh, to experience life and peace. 

Romans 7:22-25 AMP: The internal war between the law of God in the inner man and the law of sin in the members. Deliverance is THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord. 

Galatians 5:1-18 AMP: Called to Freedom. Do not use freedom for the sinful nature. Walk in the Spirit to not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

The burden is to call the Church to reject the operation of sin, sickness, and poverty, and to embrace Spirit-governed, grace-empowered, lawful living. Only then can a Believer experience assured freedom, dominion, and fulfilment.

LIVING BY ‘THE LAW OF FAITH’ IN THE GRACE”! For by GRACE, we are SAVED and by GRACE we STAND; and as we LIVE BY and LIVE THROUGH THE LAW OF FAITH IN THE GRACE, we are ensured and assured of the rights and privileges of our REDEMPTION in Principle. And this belongs to all ends of the spectrum that make up THE CHURCH OF GOD in Christ Jesus – The JEWS [The CIRCUMCISION] and The GENTILES [The UNCIRCUMCISION]. 

“Where is BOASTING then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by THE LAW OF FAITH. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is JUSTIFIED BY FAITH WITHOUT THE DEEDS OF THE LAW. 29 Is he the God of THE JEWS ONLY? is he not also of THE GENTILES? The dawn Month of AUGUST is the eighth month of the year and thus represents a NEW BEGINNING. It is the eighth [8] month in both the JULIAN and GREGORIAN calendars and one of the seven [7] months that is 31 days long. 

The name AUGUST means to inspire – REVERENCE, ADMIRATION, SUPREMACY, DIGNITY, GRANDEUR, MAJESTY, VENERATION, EMINENCE, GRANDNESS AND LORDLINESS. And in conjunction with this, AUGUST therefore is to ensure that “LIVING BY ‘THE LAW OF FAITH’ IN THE GRACE” is DIGNIFIED, REVERED, ADMIRED, MAJESTIC, EMINENT, VENERABLE, GRAND and more of such like . . .  

In GENESIS 1-2:3, the scripture records the wonderful acts of God in the creation of planet earth and all that is on the earth, as summed up in PSALMS 24:1-2. From the scripture we see that by the sixth day God had created all He intended to create, including man whom He also empowered to have dominion over all of creation; and on the SEVENTH day God RESTED, taking delight in His creation – as declared in REVELATION 4:11 and ECCLESIASTES 3:11. 

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast CREATED ALL THINGS, and for THY PLEASURE they ARE and WERE CREATED” Revelation 4:11. 

“He has MADE everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted ETERNITY [a sense of divine purpose] in the human HEART [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end” Ecclesiastes 3:11/AMP 

When God rested on the SEVENTH day, what then do you think happened on the next day – being the EIGHTH? I tell you now what I think and have come to know and understand by the Spirit of God. This is what I believe and conclude: That on the EIGHTH, man’s NEW DAY DAWNNED – born and made to begin. Meaning, the EIGHTH day was the BEGINNING of man [non-gender] to LIVE for purpose and meaning [Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:11-2; Ecclesiastes 3:11/AMP]. And it was for man to start taking on, in PRINCIPLE, the act of RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY from the REST of God on the seventh [7] day, in order to find his OWN REST when he has done God’s purpose for him [Romans 8:28-30; Hebrews 4:8-11; Revelation 14:13]. And it was for man to EXERCISE his eminent, given and endowed authority: to be fruitful and multiply, to replenish the earth, subdue it and have dominion in it, and to live in majestic splendour, thrive in colour and grandeur – Genesis 1:26-28. 

The EIGHTH day was a day of great influence, affluence and significance – of honour and dignity – for man to take the chance and opportunity accorded him by the uncreated Creator God to advance the PATH OF LIFE in the path of divine responsibility and accountability on earth, to fulfil God’s given purpose and assignment. It was a DAWN DAY of becoming God’s REPRESENTATIVE and AMBASSADOR on earth – according to, but not limited to, these Scriptures: Psalms 115:16; Psalms 8:4-6; Isaiah 45:11-12; 2 Corinthians 5:20. 

HEREIN NOW IS THE TRAJECTORY TO – “LIVING BY ‘THE LAW OF FAITH’ IN THE GRACE”:  

Do you recall your first time of going to school, college, or university – that place you so much desired, deserved and cherished – and how well you PREPARED and DRESSED to AUGUST it? Or when you started that desired and precious job – how you began it on such a good note with a majestic show that you were present and capable to AUGUST it? Or that first or special date with that special person – how beautifully you carried yourself with such great value to AUGUST it? Or on that lovely, sweet and gracious wedding – how you ensured and AUGUSTED it, so that it becomes the most talked-about day for an honourable marriage, and was at the top of everyone’s lips before all invited friends and family? 

It is time to SELAH – PAUSE and THINK – of any other situations you dignified, accorded respect to and honoured, though not mentioned here. That is what it means to AUGUST an occasion precisely and pricelessly. And this is how and why’ you need to AUGUST this month of AUGUST, in doing LIFE and living GODLY in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

It is this act of AUGUSTING one’s life that led the Apostle Paul to say he dearly and earnestly MAGNIFIED and DIGNIFIED his MINISTERIAL OFFICE, so that no man would disdain or take his calling and ministerial office for granted. In other words, he AUGUSTED the office of his CALLING with GRACIOUSNESSS and GRACEFULNESS, with such grace as to ensure it was DIGNIFIED, REVERED, ADMIRED, MAJESTIC, EMINENT, VENERABLE, GRAND and more – just as it is written: 

“Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I MAGNIFY MINE OFFICE: 14 if by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them”  

I can therefore conclude that the number EIGHT is the dawn number of OPPORTUNITY and POSSIBILITY- for a start and for a new day in man’s new beginning. When God rested to enjoy His finished work, mankind began its ambassadorial role with great chance and opportunity, polished and fashioned in the path of dignity and gracious display – being revered, admired, majestic, eminent and venerable. 

You need to believe again in the you that is of God and in God – to live and reign with dignity. This is the month of AUGUST – let us AUGUST it again by “LIVING BY ‘THE LAW OF FAITH’ IN THE GRACE”. 

I pray that as you journey through this month of August, being the eighth of the calendar year, it shall be the beginning of months for you. A month in which you will live and reign in the path of majesty, in dignity, eminence, reverence, admiration, venerability and lordliness. A life where all things are under your control as you reign in the path of dominion. May you spend time in God’s presence that He might order your life to greatness and peace, as it is written: “A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary”. Jeremiah 12:12 

Unlike Adam who misplaced his priority with Eve, I pray that this honour of being justified by the deeds of Christ as in Romans 5:1-2, your path shall shine brighter and brighter until the full glow of you is seen by all and they may behold the great eminence of God in you; and then glorify our Father God, the Father of our saviour-King and Lord Jesus, whose presence is your source of life and grace. Amen! 

May this month of number eight, being August, turn your shame to fame, your disdain to honour and glory, your failure to success, your setbacks to stepping stones and your disappointment to appointment. May your present lamentable situation and circumstance become your positioning for greater heights in life and godliness. 

I pray that the good Lord will order your steps, uphold you, and help you to put on the same kind of spirit as that of Joseph of the twelve. Who, after hearing that Pharaoh wanted him, did not go as he was – in disdain, sorrowful and in a battered prison uniform. Rather, he SHAVED HIS BEARD and exchanged his prison clothes for a dignified robe; assuring himself in God that when he got to the palace of pharaoh – a place of HONOUR, EMINENCE, DIGNITY and REVERENCE – he would not return to prison again. And that eventually became his story. Even though he knew he was in prison, he did not imprison himself as a prisoner. Meaning, the prison did not have him, because the eminent one – Jehovah-Adonai, lived in him [Genesis 41:12-16; 1 John 4:4-6].  

I PRAY that you have a gracious and graceful month of August in God’s BLESSEDNESS, in Christ Jesus’ stead, as you begin “LIVING BY ‘THE LAW OF FAITH’ IN THE GRACE” Amen.

THE DAWN MONTH TO AUGUST WITH – “THE NEW WINE FOR A NEW YOU! 

You are most WELCOME to the DAWN of our eighth [8] month, AUGUST – our NEW DAWN MONTH in God’s grace and BLESSEDNESS, in Christ Jesus’ stead. 

“In the BEGINNING God CREATED the heaven and the earth . . . 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was VERY GOOD. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day” Genesis 1:1, 31. 

“He has made EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL in its time. Also, He has put ETERNITY in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from BEGINNING to end” Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV. 

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the SEVENTH DAY God ended his work which he had made; and he RESTED on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God BLESSED the seventh day and SANCTIFIED it: because that in it he had RESTED from all his work which God CREATED and MADE” Genesis 2:1-3.

Therefore, the EIGHTH day marked the beginning for man to take his stand in PRINCIPLE – with RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY, in DILIGENCE and PRUDENCE -flowing from the REST of God, in order to find his own rest as he fulfils God’s purpose and assignment – Romans 8:28-30; Ephesians 1:11; Hebrews 4:8-11. Man’s NEW DAWN signifies a time to EXERCISE the eminent authority given and endowed to him – a power of attorney – to be fruitful and multiply, to replenish the earth, to subdue it and have dominion in it, and to live in majestic splendour, thrive in colour and grandeur Genesis 1:26-28. 

The EIGHTH day was a day of great INFLUENCE, AFFLUENCE and SIGNIFICANCE – a day of HONOUR and DIGNITY – for man, without regard to gender, to seize the chance and opportunity accorded by the uncreated Creator God to advance God’s purpose through “THE NEW WINE FOR A NEW YOU”. This is to meaningfully, responsibly and accountably carry out God’s order on earth and to fulfil the given purpose and assignment accordingly as instructed. It was a DAWN Day of becoming God’s REPRESENTATIVE and AMBASSADOR on earth – according to but not limited to, Psalms 115:16; Psalms 8:4-6; Isaiah 45:11-12; 2 Corinthians 5:20

I could give you many more scenarios, but you have some and can testify to them – that grandeur display of yours to AUGUST in your presence, especially on your Birthday, when you took out time and resources to make it YOUR DAY. 

Now therefore, it’s time to SELAH – PAUSE and THINK – of any situations that you’ve dignified, accorded respect and honoured, though not mentioned here. That is what it means to AUGUST an occasion precisely and pricelessly – and the how and why to AUGUST this month of AUGUST, in DOING LIFE and LIVING GODLY. 

It is this act of AUGUSTING one’s life that made Apostle Paul say that he MAGNIFIED his MINISTERIAL OFFICE. He did so dearly and earnestly, that no man would disdain or take his calling and ministerial office and repute for granted. Meaning, he AUGUSTED the office of his CALLING with GRACIOUSNESSS and GRACEFULNESS – with such grace to ensure it was DIGNIFIED, REVERED, ADMIRED, MAJESTIC, EMINENT, VENERABLE, GRAND and all such like, as it is written: 

“For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I MAGNIFY MY MINISTRY, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them” Romans 11:13-14 NKJV. 

I can therefore conclude that the number EIGHT is the DAWN NUMBER of OPPORTUNITY and POSSIBILITY – to make a start and of a new day for man’s new beginning. When God rested and was delighted in His finished work, mankind began its representative and ambassadorial role in a great fashion – a chance and opportunity, polished and fashioned in the path of dignity and gracious display: to be revered, admired, majestic, eminent and venerable. 

You need to believe again in the you that is of Go d and in God – to live and reign dignified. This is the month of AUGUST – let us AUGUST it again with “THE NEW WINE FOR A NEW YOU” in God’s GRACE and BLESSEDNESS in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen!

A month in which you will live and reign in the path of MAJESTY and DIGNITY, EMINENCE: be REVERED and ADMIRED, VENERABLE and LORDLY. May the Month of AUGUST be a month wherein all things that pertain to DOING LIFE and LIVING GODLY are under your control, as you reign in the path of DOMINION. May you spend time in God’s presence, that He might order your life to GREATNESS and PEACE, as it is written: 

“A GLORIOUS HIGH THRONE from the BEGINNING is the PLACE of our SANCTUARY (DWELLING)” Jeremiah 17:12. 

Unlike Adam, I pray that this honour of being justified by the deeds of Christ Jesus as in Romans 5:1-2, will cause your path to shine and shine brighter and brighter – cleaner and cleaner – until the full glow of you is shown, that all may see your great eminence in God; and then glorify our Father God, the Father of our saviour-King and Lord Jesus, whose presence is your source of life and grace. Amen! 

May this month of number EIGHT, being AUGUST, turn your shame to fame, your disdain to honour and glory, your failure to success, your setbacks to stepping stones, and your disappointment to appointment. May your present lamentable situation and

“Yea, the Lord will answer and say unto his people, Behold, I will send you CORN, and WINE, and OIL, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the heathen . . . 28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will POUR OUT MY SPIRIT upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I POUR OUT MY SPIRIT” Joel 2:19, 28-29.

“And, behold, I send the PROMISE of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with POWER from on high” Luke 24:49. 

“For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence . . . 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” Acts 1:5, 8.

  • Name “AUGUST” = to inspire REVERENCE, ADMIRATION, SUPREMACY, DIGNITY, GRANDEUR, HONOUR, MAJESTY, VENERATION, EMINENCE, LORDLINESS. 
  • Therefore, to “AUGUST” something means to treat it with precision, value and honour. To AUGUST YOUR LIFE is to live dignified. 
  • Example: Apostle Paul MAGNIFIED HIS MINISTRY — Romans 11:13-14 — he AUGUSTED his calling with GRACIOUSNESS so no one would disdain it.

August is the month to AUGUST IT AGAIN with “THE NEW WINE FOR A NEW YOU” in God’s GRACE.

Believe again in the you that is of God and in God — to live and reign dignified. 

Expectation: Shame → Fame, Disdain → Honour, Failure → Success, Setbacks → Stepping stones, Disappointment → Appointment.

Like Joseph in Genesis 41:12-16: 
Even in prison, he didn’t imprison himself. When Pharaoh called, he shaved, changed clothes, and entered the palace with dignity because “the EMINENT ONE lives in him — JEHOVAH-ADONAI.” 
We are called to carry that same spirit this month.

THE SPIRIT OF UNDERSTANDING: A KEY TO ENACT AND AUTHENTICATE YOU IN LIVING AND DOING LIFE WISELY! 

A WISE MAN IS STRONG; yea, a man of KNOWLEDGE increaseth STRENGTH” Proverbs 24:5. 

It is true that a man of KNOWLEDGE is a man of STRENGTH; but a man of UNDERSTANDING is a man of WISDOM — the wisdom to live and do life wisely — anywhere, any day and any time, in the grace of Christ Jesus’ stead.  

“WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING; therefore get WISDOM: and with all thy getting get UNDERSTANDING” (Proverbs 4:7). 

I hereby EMPLOY you EXPEDIENTLY to pray in line with Ephesians 1:15-23 for THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING AND THE REVELATION OF KNOWLEDGE, in order to LIVE and DO LIFE WISELY. 

For WISDOM — the product of KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING — gives life and causes one to SHINE and RADIATE IN GLORY.  

“Who is as the WISE man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a MAN’S WISDOM MAKETH HIS FACE TO SHINE, and the boldness of his face shall be changed” Ecclesiastes 8:1. 

UNDERSTANDING emancipates and gives complete FREEDOM in all areas of life. 

For until you UNDERSTAND what you claim to KNOW, you are as good as the IGNORANT — UNINFORMED, UNPRODUCTIVE and ILL-EQUIPPED. 

A mere PASSION and KNOWLEDGE take one nowhere until there is UNDERSTANDING of that knowledgeable passion. 

Seek UNDERSTANDING today in the light of the Scriptures, for God will open the eyes of your understanding and give you ENLIGHTENMENT and ILLUMINATION in LIFE and GRACE to ensure GOD’S BLESSEDNESS within you in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen. 

Therefore, I pray that the eyes of your understanding may be ENLIGHTENED and ILLUMINATED, in LIFE and GRACE, to ensure the needed WISDOM that will give you LEVERAGE and STABILITY in your God-ordained PLAN, PURPOSE and PURSUIT. Amen!  

Herein is the PRAYERLINE of – Ephesians 1:15-23 to appropriate for yourself accordingly: 

“Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in MY PRAYERS: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may GIVE to you the spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION in the KNOWLEDGE of Him, 18 the eyes of your UNDERSTANDING being enlightened; that you may KNOW what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all” Ephesians 1:15-23 NKJV. 

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“A WISE MAN IS STRONG; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength” Proverbs 24:5. 

“GOOD UNDERSTANDING GIVES FAVOUR: but the way of transgressors (ignorance) is hard (difficult, rough)” Proverbs 13:15 (Emphasis mine). 

“The man that WANDERS OUT OF THE WAY OF UNDERSTANDING shall remain in the congregation of the dead (unproductive, ignorant and unwise people)” (Proverbs 21:6 (Emphasis mine).

We are charged to pray for THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING AND THE REVELATION OF KNOWLEDGE according to Ephesians 1:15-23, so that the eyes of our understanding may be enlightened. This is how we are equipped to live wisely. 
Ephesians 1:17-18 — “…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may GIVE to you the spirit of WISDOM and REVELATION in the KNOWLEDGE of Him, the eyes of your UNDERSTANDING being enlightened” 

  1. THE OUTCOME OF WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING

WISDOM — the product of KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING — gives life and causes one to SHINE and RADIATE IN GLORY. UNDERSTANDING also EMANCIPATES and gives complete FREEDOM in all areas of life.

We are to pray that the eyes of our understanding may be ENLIGHTENED and ILLUMINATED, in LIFE and GRACE, to ensure the needed WISDOM that gives LEVERAGE and STABILITY in our God-ordained PLAN, PURPOSE and PURSUIT. 
Ephesians 1:15-23 is presented as the PRAYERLINE to appropriate for this. 

IN SUMMARY: 
You need KNOWLEDGE for strength, but you must pursue UNDERSTANDING to get WISDOM. WISDOM is the principal thing because it makes you shine, gives favour, freedom, and authenticates wise living. Therefore, pray Ephesians 1:15-23 and seek understanding continually in Christ Jesus’ stead. Amen.

LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW

LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW: THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE – GIVES FREEDOM AND EMPOWERS VICTORY AND DOMINION IN LIFE AND GRACE! 

“For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus hath MADE ME FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH” Romans 8:2. 

In life, there’s no one single educational system in the world that is designed to educate people to tell lies or cheat, or run down government or create any of the societal vices, or epidemic and pandemics in terms of sicknesses and DISEASES, or to create the INHUMANE and EVILS and WICKEDNESS we find in community and society and nations today. Do you know any institution that teaches and lectures any of the things mentioned or such like?  

However, there’s a LAW OF NATURE in doing life; it’s the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH, which is operating knowingly or unknowingly on earth in every phase of doing life; and everyone by virtue of being born on earth found themselves to exhibit one or more of the traces of this law in their human’s nature and are affected directly or indirectly by the consequence of its operations. 

But there’s another law, the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS – this LAW gives the LEVERAGE over the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH [Romans 8:1-2]. SIN being the cause and effect for SICKNESS, POVERTY AND SPIRITUAL DEATH. And SPIRITUAL DEATH results to the PHYSICAL DEATH. Invariably,some will go to eternal death knowingly and unknowingly. 

“For I joyfully delight in THE LAW of God in my inner self [with my new nature], 23 but I see a different law and rule of action in the members of my body [in its appetites and desires], WAGING WAR AGAINST THE LAW OF MY MIND and subduing me and making me a prisoner of THE LAW OF SIN which is within my members. 24 Wretched and miserable man that I am! Who will [rescue me and] set me free from this body of death [this corrupt, mortal existence]? 25 Thanks be to God [for my deliverance] THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with MY MIND [SPIRIT-MIND] SERVE THE LAW of God, but on the other, with MY FLESH [my HUMAN NATURE, my WORLDLINESS, my SINFUL CAPACITY—I SERVE] THE LAW OF SIN” Romans 7:22-25/AMP. 

Hence the HIGHER LAW, is the LAW to enable one live in DOMINION over All bondages which are the consequence and effect of SIN NATURE: POVERTY, SICKNESS and SPIRITUAL DEATH. Therefore, it’s imperative that you CONNECT to the HIGHER LAW today, and live FREE in Christ for VIRTUE and GLORY. 

I urge you therefore in Christ Jesus stead, to STRIVE LAWFULLY on the HIGHER LAW in order to WIN in life, live in DOMINION and VICTORY and to be FULFILLED in it all effortless and without sweat in God’s GRACE and BLESSEDNESS. 

“And if a man also STRIVE FOR MASTERIES, yet is he NOT CROWNED, except he STRIVE LAWFULLY” 2 Timothy 2:5. 

LIVING BY THE HIGHER LAW – THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS – SETS ONE FREE – AND KEEPS ONE IN THE REALM OF DOMINION. 

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE in Christ Jesus hath MADE ME FREE from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH” Romans 8:2. 

“And if a man also STRIVE FOR MASTERIES, yet is he not crowned, except he STRIVE LAWFULLY” 2 Timothy 2:5. 

“Therefore there is NOW NO CONDEMNATION [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who ARE in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. 2 For THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our NEW BEING] has set you FREE from THE LAW OF SIN AND OF DEATH. 3 For what THE LAW could not do [that is, OVERCOME sin and REMOVE its PENALTY, its POWER] being weakened by THE FLESH [man’s nature WITHOUT the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He CONDEMNED SIN in THE FLESH [SUBDUED it and OVERCAME it in the person of His own Son], 4 so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be FULFILLED in us who do not live our lives in THE WAYS OF THE FLESH [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in THE WAYS OF THE SPIRIT [guided by His power]. 5 For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of THE FLESH [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to THE SPIRIT, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. 6 Now THE MIND OF THE FLESH IS DEATH [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but THE MIND OF THE SPIRIT is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; 7 THE MIND OF THE FLESH [with its sinful pursuits] is ACTIVELY HOSTILE to God. It does not SUBMIT itself to God’s law, since it cannot, 8 and those who ARE in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] CANNOT PLEASE God” Romans 8:1-8/AMP. 

SUMMARY: 

The message emphasises living by the Higher Law: The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, which gives freedom, victory, and dominion over the Law of Sin and Death.

  • There’s a natural law (Law of Sin and Death) operating in the world, leading to sin, sickness, poverty, and spiritual death. 
  • The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus gives leverage over the Law of Sin and Death (Romans 8:1-2). 
  • This Higher Law enables believers to live in dominion over sin’s consequences: poverty, sickness, and spiritual death.  
  • To live in this freedom, one must connect to the Higher Law and strive lawfully in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:5). 
  • The mind of the flesh leads to death, but the mind of the Spirit brings life and peace (Romans 8:6). 

The message encourages believers to:

GOD GIVES [SHINES] LIGHT OUT OF THE MIDST OF DARKNESS

GOD GIVES [SHINES] LIGHT OUT OF THE MIDST OF DARKNESS: GOD DOES NOT GIVE [SHINES] LIGHT UPON DARKNESS! 

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I AM THE LIGHT of the world: he that FOLLOWETH me shall NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, but shall have the LIGHT OF LIFE” John 8:12. 

The beauty of our REDEMPTION is that light has TRIUMPH over darkness. And Jesus is our light and lighthouse indeed. And in Him, we can walk in the light of God, in Christ Jesus, in our redemption in Him. God is not saying He will shine LIGHT upon our darkness or in our darkness but will bring FORTH light OUT OF OUR DARKNESS as He did in our redemption through Christ Jesus; much more as He did in creation wherein DARKNESS beseech the EARTH. The Consequence of that darkness made the earth to be without form and void. But God abhors darkness, hence He ordered light to shine fourth OUT OF THAT DARKNESS. And light came FORTH. And light is superior to any level of darkness, for darkness can NEVER comprehend, overtake, overpower or breakdown any form or levels of light. 

“For God, who commanded the LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, hath SHINED in our hearts, to give THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE of the glory of God in the FACE OF JESUS CHRIST” 2 Corinthians 4:6. 

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the EARTH was WITHOUT FORM, AND VOID; and DARKNESS was UPON the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be LIGHT: and there was light. 4 And God saw the LIGHT, that it was good: and God divided the light from the DARKNESS. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day” Genesis 1:1-5. 

And by God’s eternal WORD, you can emancipate yourself with God’s light to brighten up your life from any form and void of darkness. For God’s word is a lamp (insight) unto our feet and a light (foresight) unto our path of doing life. And the entrance of God’s WORD into our being brightens up our life daily with understanding.  

“Thy WORD is a LAMP unto my FEET, and a LIGHT unto my PATH . . . 130 The ENTRANCE of thy WORDS giveth LIGHT; it giveth UNDERSTANDING unto the simple” Psalms 119:105, 130. 

“In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with God, and THE WORD was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the LIGHT SHINETH IN DARKNESS; and the DARKNESS COMPREHENDED IT NOT” John 1:1-5. 

And by Jesus in you, who is the LIGHT in you, the path of you, the JUSTIFIED and RIGHTEOUS person in Christ Jesus, can now shine brighter and brighter until your day is dawn with God in LIFE and GODLINESS in the grace. For He is the fountain of life, and in His light, we shine out His light to illuminate the world out of darkness in the grace of redemption. 

“But the PATH OF THE JUST is as the SHINING LIGHT, that SHINETH MORE AND MORE unto the perfect day” Proverbs 4:18. 

“For with You is the FOUNTAIN of life [the fountain of life-giving water]; In Your LIGHT we SEE light” Psalms 36:9/Amplified. 

“You ARE the LIGHT of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill CANNOT be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives LIGHT to all who ARE in the house. 16 Let your light SHINE before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] GLORIFY your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:14-16/Amplified. 

I pray that you SHINE FORTH IN THE LIGHT of God’s GRACE in you, which is Christ and of Christ out of EVERY NOTABLE DARKNESS you are locked down with at this very moment, in Jesus precious name. Amen.

SCRIPTURAL THOUGHTS WORTH PONDERING IN CONTEXT: 

“Ye ARE the LIGHT of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your LIGHT so SHINE before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:14–16. 

“For God, who commanded the LIGHT TO SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS, hath SHINED in our hearts, to give THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE of the glory of God in the FACE OF JESUS CHRIST” 2 Corinthians 4:6.

SUMMARY:
